Varicose veins are a common problem, affecting up to 1 in 3 adults in their lifetime. They are usually a sign of an underlying venous insufficiency.
Thread veins can appear anywhere on the body but are mostly evidenced on the legs and face. They are more common than varicose veins, affecting up to 80% of adults.
Leg ulcers appear as broken skin in the lower leg or feet. We have been successfully treating venous leg ulcers for over 20 years.

Dominic Dodd is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at the Manchester and Leeds clinics.
He used to work closely with David. They first met in 1992 when he was undertaking basic surgical training at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. He subsequently trained in Manchester at both the University Hospital of South Manchester and Manchester Royal Infirmary and is now based at the Sheffield Vascular Institute.
He has a busy NHS and private practice dealing with both arterial and venous conditions in one of the largest specialist vascular centres in the UK. He is active in research and is a principal investigator in the CLASS trial comparing a range of treatments for varicose veins.
Although he first started treating varicose veins with open surgery in 1993, he has since developed considerable expertise in minimally-invasive varicose vein treatment. He first started using VNUS and endovenous laser to treat varicose veins in 2004 and has now performed more than one thousand procedures. He has run training courses on endovenous laser treatment and has been invited to lecture to doctors from throughout the UK and Europe.
Dominic is recognised by all the major insurance providers and has been on the specialist register of the GMC since 2002.
He is married with one son and enjoys travel and photography whenever he has any spare time.
