Varicose veins are a common problem, affecting up to 1 in 3 adults in their lifetime. They are usually a sign of an underlying venous insufficiency.
Thread veins can appear anywhere on the body but are mostly evidenced on the legs and face. They are more common than varicose veins, affecting up to 80% of adults.
Leg ulcers appear as broken skin in the lower leg or feet. We have been successfully treating venous leg ulcers for over 20 years.

Mr Srinivasamurthy graduated as a medical doctor from Bengaluru University in India in 2001. He did his surgical training in UK since 2003 and successfully completed vascular surgical training in 2016. Devaraj was awarded Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) by GMC.
Devaraj undertook an Advanced Endovascular fellowship in Manchester Royal Infirmary in 2014 and gained experience to perform endovascular aneurysm stent repair and endogenous minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins. He did an international fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2015 and gained expertise in minimally invasive endovascular treatments for peripheral arterial disease, aneurysms, and varicose veins. He has a special interest in treatment of complex aneurysms, peripheral arterial endovascular interventions, and thoracic outlet syndrome.
Devaraj is a consultant vascular surgeon at the University Hospital of Coventry since April 2016 and has a busy NHS practice. He started the thoracic outlet decompression service at UHCW which has been very successful. He continues to treat patients with varicose veins, aneurysms, and peripheral arterial disease with both open and minimally invasive endovascular modalities. He regularly submits patient outcome data of all vascular procedures to National Vascular Registry and this has demonstrated excellent results.
He has a very keen interest in medical education and training and has an active role as a Surgical Tutor. He has organised several regional training for medical students and trainee doctors to improve their knowledge and skills in the treatment of vascular disorders.
Outside work Devaraj enjoys playing cricket, badminton, and spending time with his family and friends.
