Dr Vishwanath is a consultant vascular and interventional Radiologist, currently based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and Good Hope Hospital in Birmingham and has been working as a consultant since 2017. He specialises in all aspects of Interventional Radiology, with a special interest in complex peripheral vascular intervention like revascularisation of occluded blood vessels, angioplasty and stenting, and in interventional oncology.
Having completed basic surgical training in various Birmingham hospitals, Deepak worked as a demonstrator in Anatomy in University of Birmingham teaching medical and dental students. Subsequently he completed his basic radiology training and interventional radiology training in the prestigious West of Scotland training scheme.
Deepak likes teaching and actively participates in teaching hospital doctors, nurses and medical students in all aspects of interventional radiology. He reviews papers submitted for Clinical Radiology journal. As part of his clinical governance commitments, Deepak organises regular teaching and clinical governance meetings for his department.
Deepak is a photography enthusiast, and quite likes people and landscape photography. He is also learning acoustic guitar and enjoys playing cricket and badminton.
