Dr Ananth Krishnan is a Consultant Vascular and Interventional Radiologist. He has worked at the Manchester Royal Infirmary since 2012. He joined the Veincentre team in early 2016 working in both the Manchester and Stoke clinic.
He specialises in all aspects of vascular intervention with a special interest in Complex Aneurysm repair, treatment of arteriovenous abnormalities and interventional oncology.
He also offers treatments for pelvic congestion syndrome (varicose veins in the pelvis) and specialises in treatment of deep vein thrombosis and abnormalities affecting arteries and veins. He works at our Stoke and Manchester clinics and offers treatment for varicose veins.
Ananth completed his basic surgical training in Derby and after completing his basic radiology training in Dundee, undertook his two-year fellowship training in prestigious North Glasgow hospitals.
He has been actively involved in research and training. In 2014 he received the Editor’s Medal for the Best Scientific research paper on Uterine Fibroid Embolisation.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE).
When he is not at work, he loves spending time with his family and his baby girl who is only 8 weeks old. He loves playing the guitar and is planning to learn the flamenco style of playing it.
Dr Krishnan has committed to working at Veincentre Manchester on a Thursday, and Veincentre Stoke every other Friday. If you book an initial consultation with Dr Krishnan, all your future appointments will be with Dr Krishnan however you can see him in either our Manchester or Stoke clinic. As such, it is important to note that if you opt to go ahead with treatment this will be undertaken on either a Thursday in Manchester or a Friday in Stoke (as will all future follow-up appointments). You will continue seeing Dr Krishnan at your original clinic location unless you request to move.
Occasionally Dr Krishnan may open up a list on another day, especially during our busy periods, however, we cannot guarantee appointment dates on any other day than those listed above even if a previous appointment was on a different day. If you are unable to attend one of Dr Krishnan’s dates and hence wish to switch consultants, you will need to attend and pay for a new consultation with the other consultant before any treatment being undertaken. Please take care when choosing which consultant/ date to book.
Please note that due to holidays Dr Krishnan may not be available every Thursday in Manchester, or Friday in Stoke.
