Home > What is the difference between Consultant Vascular Surgeons and Consultant Interventional Radiologists? > What is the difference between Consultant Vascular Surgeons and Consultant Interventional Radiologists? At Veincentre we have both Vascular Interventional Radiologists and Vascular Surgeons. All our specialists are established Consultants and are highly trained in clinical assessment of patients with venous disease, venous ultrasound scanning, EVLA and foam sclerotherapy techniques. Interventional Radiologists provide image-guided therapies which have often superseded older operative “surgical” types of treatment. Regardless of speciality of the consultant, all our consultants are highly trained in the modern diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and so there is no difference between the vein treatment one would receive from a Vascular Surgeon or Interventional Radiologist at Veincentre.
