Why June chose varicose vein treatment in Edinburgh

June is 68 years old and proudly describes herself as young at heart. After retiring four years ago, she and her partner began travelling more frequently to their favourite holiday destination, Tenerife. 

However, June felt increasingly self-conscious about her varicose veins. Like many people living with varicose veins, she avoided wearing shorts or dresses and often covered her legs even in warm weather.

After discussing with her partner, June felt confident moving forward and booked treatment for December 2025. 

June shares that throughout treatment Dan and the team explained each stage clearly, helping her to feel comfortable and informed. She was even able to watch the procedure on screen, which reassured her and helped her understand how the treatment worked. 

After wearing her compression stocking for one week, she began noticing visible improvements in her legs, with reduced lumpiness and improved appearance. 

Life after varicose vein treatment

By February 2026, June returned to Tenerife feeling far more confident. For the first time in years, she packed shorts, swimwear and shorter dresses without hesitation. 

She describes this as her “best holiday yet”, enjoying the sunshine and feeling comfortable showing her legs. 

June says her varicose vein treatment has significantly improved her confidence and quality of life, allowing her to enjoy travel, social occasions and everyday activities without feeling self-conscious.
