How was life before Jill’s Varicose Vein Treatment
Before Jill’s treatment at VeinCentre, she was struggling with a constant ache in her right leg. The heaviness was affecting her sleep, and she found it increasingly difficult to enjoy long walks with her family in the Lake District and along the Northumberland coast. Jill also noticed a vein beginning to protrude on her lower calf, and the discomfort was becoming unbearable. The aching and throbbing were real issues that needed to be addressed.

“Dr Mark Regi and his team were very friendly and put me at ease from the beginning. After conducting an ultrasound scan, he explained what was happening in my leg with the valves not working properly and made some suggestions for treatment to put it right. I was given a clear explanation of how the treatment (EVLA) worked. He suggested I have a think about it and to get in contact if I decide to go ahead. I didn’t need much time to decide as, although I was a little nervous, I knew I needed the treatment and that I’d be in safe hands.
I called a few days later to book in for treatment with an appointment made for the following week, very easy and no long wait!”
How was Jill’s Treatment?
“On the day of the treatment I was again greeted in a friendly manner by the same team who I’d had the consultation with, and they did a great job of keeping me distracted whilst they set about getting on with the treatment. It took wasn’t as painful as I’d expected and it was over quickly – very efficient!”
After the treatment, Jill was encouraged to take a 20-minute walk, which she said felt great and really helped with her recovery.
How has life changed for Jill since her treatment?
Six weeks later, Jill was amazed by the results. The aching in her leg had completely gone, and she was able to sleep through the night without the discomfort that had once kept her awake. She’d also incorporated walking into her daily routine again, something she’d struggled with before treatment. Now, she walks for at least an hour every day, pain-free and without the heaviness she once felt!
